Rheological Evaluation of Modified Bitumen by EVA and Crumb Rubber Using RSM Optimization

In the present study, ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) and crumb rubber (CR) were used as bitumen modifiers. The experiment was designed by response surface methodology (RSM) at different levels of modifier additives based on central composite design (CCD). Next, Superpave protocol followed to evaluate modified performance temperatures compared with unmodified bitumen. this regard, high temperatures, a dynamic shear rheometer (DSR) test performed, G ∗ /sinδ index examined samples after aging. Besides, bending beam (BBR) performed low-temperature behaviour according SHRP standard creep stiffness rate. optimal combination evaluated using RSM analysis statistical values improve properties low temperatures. Moreover, DSR BBR results, 5.6% EVA 3.9% CR selected for mixture.
